Rent Discount for 2001

The Directors of FSTC are pleased to announce a 5% discount if your annual rent is paid in full no later than February 15, 2001. You will receive more details about this new payment policy in November.

FSTC Flag

The Fairhope Single Tax Corporation proudly announces that it will be creating a flag to be sold to our members, lessees, and the public for a yet-to-be-determined price. All proceeds from the sale of these flags will be placed in a special fund to be utilized solely for college scholarships. The flag will be available for sale to the public by the end of the year.

Positive Press for FSTC

FSTC has been getting a lot of good press. Last month Alabama Public Television finished a documentary on Fairhope and The Fairhope Single Tax Corporation to be aired in May 2001. In addition, German Public Radio recently visited FSTC offices for an interview with Secretary Charles Ham that will be aired in November in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

New Fairhope Comprehensive Plan

The City of Fairhope is preparing a new Comprehensive Plan for planning and zoning, as well as all aspects of the growth of the city. This so-called Village plan means that the Planning and Zoning Commission would recognize the development of a series of smaller communities surrounding Fairhope, each with its own residential and commercial components, with minimal nearby commercial competition. FSTC plan for a series of "42-acre" parks could directly support this plan, allowing for a sizable park for each village. FSTC hopes to continue its 106-year commitment to providing new parkland that will be integrated into this new Comprehensive Plan. FSTC members who are on the Steering Committee for the New Fairhope Comprehensive Plan are John Parker and George Gilmore. It is available for review at City Hall and the Fairhope Public Library. E-mail your comments about this comprehensive plan to the City at www.cofairhope.com.

Community Project Day

For the last century, The Fairhope Single Tax Corporation has established a record of commitment to our community. In that spirit, FSTC proudly announces that it is seeking suggestions from its members, lessees, and the community at large for its upcoming Community Project Day. FSTC is presently seeking input on a worthwhile community project and would appreciate all suggestions to be forwarded to the office at fairhopesingletax@earthlink.net. This project is tentatively scheduled for April 28, 2001. Whether it's a renovation of the Fels Avenue toddler park, a sundial in Fairhoper's Community Park, or cleaning up Knoll Park, we want to hear from you.
