The Colony Foundation

Officers of the Fairhope Single Tax Corporation have formed a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization called
The Colony Foundation, Inc. The purposes of the foundation are:

To promote and support the placing of land in perpetual trust for public use as parks, watershed protection and similar uses.
To promote and support other organizations wishing to protect lands for public use.
To promote and support maintaining public buildings for historical purposes.

The initial Board of Directors for The Colony Foundation includes:

Lawrence P. Thomas, President
C.O. (Mac) McCawley, Treasurer
Marsha R. Foster, Secretary
Dean Mosher, Director
Eric Dyas, Director

With 501(c) 3 tax status individuals will be able to contribute land, buildings, or money to the Foundation and be eligible for a tax deduction for the value of the contribution. Approval by the I.R.S. was received in 2006.
